Blackpool 2009
We travelled down to Blackpool on Sat 11th April 09 for the Blackpool Easter Tournament and stayed at the Ashley Victoria hotel right on the promenade, it was like Turnberry compared to Pontins a couple of years previously!... The tournament was run over two days, the Sunday and the Monday, with three games each day with play-off's to end with.The boys managed to qualify for the final (Plate) on the Sunday, Joe managed to score with a classy overhead kick in the dying seconds of the game, which resulted in a draw and then on to penalties... Scott produced two excellent saves which helped the boys win the Plate! |
It was edge of the seat stuff at the end, Annie was live giving support via satellite from Scotland, the support was encouraging, noisy, and emotional... (surprise, surprise!) and there was even a few tears of happiness at the end... I wont mention Derek or Colin's names though... :)The accomodation was good, the weather sunny, and a good time had by all... what more to ask? |

Some of us went to the sand dunes on the Sunday evening for a game of fitba...
Bill let in hundreds of goals blaming a sore knee... :o
..and wee Dan scored most of them!
